Last mango of season

Yesterday we celebrated the last mango of the season. A red and yellow colour very beautiful one; good to be preserved rather than eaten as a delicacy.  It looked like the costly purple  'miyasaki' mango which costs ₹25000/ a piece or ₹2.5 lakhs per kilogram in the open market. I recall a recent article in the Hindu,  in which an agriculturist from Madhya Pradesh cultivating this rare variety and growing seven terrier bulldogs in the garden to protect the handful of mangoes. OK. Now let's come to the point. This year God blessed us with abundance of mangoes in a medium grown tree well protected in our backyard.  As the fruit started ripening we were eager to share it with our siblings. But due to the restriction of movement  during the pandemic we could not share with our dear ones.  Only Jeny defied the movement restrictions by his lawyer tactics to visit our house and collect the booty prearranged for him.   Rest of the days fruits were co...

Problem vs Challenge

Encountering a stream of problems day after day made our life warm and meaningful. It gave us confidence, it helped insure that later years would be years of serenity. Welcome problems reach out for them, change them into your mind as challenges. Determine steps that you need to surmount it. Only this way you can develop skill, coordination, the mind and the confidence to get it done. But my conscience was clear that his sudden outburst was the result of  misinformation. Though shattered by the bleak future in front of me due to loss of job, lack of money to buy ticket back home and to face parents to explain the reason for eviction etc, my heart told me not to worry. Two days passed at the guest house and like a guardian angel came Viswambharan with his first fortnight salary co...

Ageing gracefully

The process of ageing is a natural phenomenon, and accepting it gracefully is a virtue only a few people have it.  These days I have insatiable desire to read books of wisdom,  to write down the pearls and diamonds that are unearthed and share these to the dear ones.   Recently I asked a friend that I feel full of energy that I have regained my middle age vigour to read, write, communicate.  Also listening to soulful music brings vibration to the heart and a serene peace.  Writing down on the beautiful pages of diaries makes me more ecstatic admiring my own writing. If someone say that it is the beginning of Alzheimer's be it.  I want to be a voracious reader of books of wisdom, writer  of good thoughts and listener of  soulful music till god's permitted it. A man who sings at his work will do more in the same time, preserve longer and will do it better than anybody else. Therefore even while sweeping or cleaning the hum of music comes to my ...
