Elephant in the cane field

I do not have begonias,  petunias or pancies in my roof top garden.  But what have been carefully grafted with attention are few types of thornful shrubs. Very recently acquired plumeria and vinca rosa, vinca alba from a roadside bush near the meatshop. The three different types of thornful shrubs are always with full bloom of red flowers reflecting human sufferings throughout their life but makes others happy spreading bright flowers.  Wanted to know more details and searched the Google details of this type of plants - gave me an interesting insight - the plant is known as euphorbia milli or crown of thorns or Christ plant.  I have planted and re-planted these shrubs in multiple pots filling the entire row  with three different types of red flowers;  one with stems as big as arms flowers like ten rupee coins on a toothpick like stem changing the red colour to green after a number of days.  The second one like finger like stems with bright duel petals...
