Between the wickets

I am a regular reader of the column 'between the wickets ' by Suresh Menon.  On Wednesdays when the paper is delivered, the first article comes to my eyes and mind is this.
Yesterday I was very much captivated by his witty poetic verses about a batting and bowling genius Steve Smith.

Mr Menon draws a sketch about his friend's actions while leaving home to work.  It was indeed poetic,  but in local Bengali it would have been music to my ears. Because I am a lover of Rabeendra Sangeeth, songs of SD Burman, Mannadey, Kishore and Hemant Kumar.

Reading Mr Menon is like an interesting article by Mark Twain or Oscar wilde which I  have studied in degree English lessons.  Wants to emulate his style in writing notes in my diary also in replying to WhatsApp messages.  I wish to read his blogs or published articles if any,  but nothing is revealed in Google search.

I have read his published articles in Hindu from 2017 onwards,  but had taken note of his writing when he wrote about the our first Cricket tour to South Africa.  Under the heading 'Gandhi,  Mandela and Kapil lit up the first tour ' in the Hindu dated 28th Dec 2017.

He wrote how the Supreme leader of south Africa,  Mr Nelson Mandela put our players and officials at ease taking them  by a motor cade through the streets of Durban and then at the official briefing with Amrit Mathur,  Team manager of India when Mandela said that 'I recognised you from the television ' making the articulate Manager tongue tied.

This was the first article which impressed me  and started to write the points in my diary, then started waiting for the next and so on. He has not disappointed me through out and that is when I started searching for more of his essays or blogs.  My hearty wishes and expect more such writing from you.
